What techniques do you follow to minimize trading risk?

I follow two techniques for minimizing drawdowns and maximizing profit. One is I avoid trading in volatile market and take low leverage in trading. FXOpulence allows traders with a reliable mt5 trading platform where you won’t face any technical issues like slippage, requotes and dealing desk.

I trade small lots to follow the rules of money management and not overload the deposit. I also use stop losses in my trades. And in order to comply with non-trading risks, I trade with a reliable and reputable broker. For me it's fxopen. Normal trading conditions are also important in successful trading

I usually use a low position size in every trading plan, besides utilizing trading features such as pending orders to adjust stop losses and risk limits in a trading plan, looking at market conditions is also important and mostly avoids when the market is flat.

When trading, I also use the breakeven function. That is, when my deal enters a positive zone, I move it to breakeven at a certain distance from the order itself according to the terms of my strategy and then I don’t worry that I’ll get a minus even if the price doesn’t reach my take profit.

Using a break-even point strategy is one way to manage trading risk, at least it is safe from losing positions, but modifying the stop loss too close to the running price often hits due to volatility. Some traders may use a trailing stop for this purpose.

Yes, placing your breakeven too close to your order is incorrect trading. We need conditions for the strategy to correctly set this breakeven at the right time and in the right place. Or leave the stop loss in place if there are no conditions for a break-even order yet.

As an intermediate-level trader, it was initially hard for me to minimize trading risk as I was hardly aware of the techniques of lowering trading risk. However, with time, I learnt it and now I am using the micro account of LQDFX broker that helps me stay away from trading risk.

I always keep my trading leverage lowered and trading in low spread-consuming pairs to reap gain from the market.

To reduce risks, I avoid trading highly volatile pairs. In this case, my stop losses are not large and possible losses on such transactions also become small.
